Tierra Buena Shoot Review

Fronts: show a sliver of the sidewalk

In the video

  • P1 Looking at it again, maybe we were pushed in just right. Front A
Good shot: a sliver more sidewalk would be nicer
Good shot a sliver more sidewalk would be nicer

P2Front A

Front A: I wish you showed just a sliver of the sidewalk down at the bottom. Some leaves may start to show, so you could judge it, but I would have liked to see a bit more of the sidewalk.

P3Fronts B and C

Front B and C: good shots.

Porch: step back

In the video

  • P4 Otherwise I am missing that wall, and you are chopping off the bench. Porch
Fix: step back, keep the wall and the bench

P5Porch

I wish you would have come back more, so the shot shows this wall as well.

Kitchen: you are really getting the angles

In the video

  • P6 Good stuff. Not bad at all. You are really getting the angles now. Kitchen

P7Kitchen

You are doing much better. This is solid with this kitchen.

The two shots, on this home's floor plan.

In the video

  • P8 1. From the passage by the garage door: looking at the kitchen, and over to the hallway as well. Kitchen and dining
  • P9 2. The reverse, from the end by the hall: looking down into the dining area, and into the kitchen. Kitchen and dining
  • P10 From what I could tell, we have not seen those in the set. You may have missed those shots. Kitchen and dining
Bedrooms: two angles

P11Bedrooms

Good job getting only two angles. Those are the ones you want to get.

Bathroom: the focus landed on the mirror

In the video

  • P12 The focus was on the mirror, which is about two times farther out. Primary bathroom
  • P13 It is minimal and we can touch it up in post. Just something to keep in the back of your mind. Primary bathroom
Fix: the focus landed on the mirror

P14Primary bathroom

Zoomed in, the sink and the faucet look a bit blurry, while the mirror looks a lot sharper.

Pull back: show where the countertop starts
Fix: pull back to show where the countertop starts

P15Second bathroom

Not bad. I see the wall peering in on this side, but I wish you had pulled a bit more back, so we can also see the countertop where it starts. Just barely.

Floor plan: one more bathroom shot, for the tub

One more shot, on this home's floor plan.

In the video

  • P17 Then go into this corner, by the toilet, and take another one toward the tub, so we can see the bathtub. Second bathroom

For this home, come up just slightly higher: a foot to a foot and a half.

Good: looking away, not too high

P22Backyard

Looking away from the home, at the fence: you do not need to be so high, or you will be looking into the neighbor's backyard.

P23Backyard

Aerials: too many, and too close

In the video

  • P24 Maybe you were locked in at about 90 feet; I know that can happen. I would like to know the situation here. Aerials

A top down: the courts sit in the center square

In the video

  • P27 Focus the subject, the house or even the lot, and have it just be in that center square of the rule of thirds grid. Aerials
  • P28 It is the lesson I gave you yesterday: Critiquing Myself (the faucet close up, the soccer fields and the basketball courts). The lesson

Overall

Solid job. We just have to work slightly on the aerial shots. This was a pretty easy home, and you are much better on this round in terms of trimming than previous times. I do see some solid improvement. Keep it up.
